Digicam monochrome

It has been well over a year since I started taking an interest in older cameras, at first I would take my Canon S95 as a back up to my micro four thirds 'main' camera taking a few shots with the latter but leaning more towards the bigger gear, I had not yet embraced or learned the full potential of the humble point and shoot.

These days, that wheel has turned full circle, I will occasionally take my main camera but use the compact camera more, or simply just  take the compact alone.

Since finding the high dynamic B&W mode on my LX7 and LX100, this has been my go to setting for my mono images but I have also found a similar setting in my Sony RX100(Mk1)

Saturday gave me the perfect chance to really test the output of the LX7, my chosen compact for that day around Lyme Regis, so on Sunday I took a few shots with the Sony for good measure.

All images have had very little editing, other than shadow/highlight adjustments and the addition of a border, I am growing to like less time spent staring at a computer screen, as it means more chances to get out with the camera(s) for more image making pleasure.
