Travelling light on today's hike
Just a couple of years ago my photography walks would have involved a large camera bag with a selection of lenses and / or camera bodies, along with a tripod and whatever else the 'just in case scenario dictated'
These days, I am happy to walk with less gear and be creative with just a single camera and a couple of spare batteries.
For today's trip to Starcross, I decided to just go equipped with my Canon S95 digicam, a 14 year old camera that in theory, has no right to produce the images it does but even after almost 2 years in my retro collection, still manages to surprise me with how many personal favourite photos it has produced.
Catching the 5am train from Exeter, it is barely 15 minutes before I am at Starcross, from here, I will follow the Exe estuary trail to Topsham, catching a ferry to Topsham and a bus back home from there.
It is fair to say that I was blessed with some rather lovely light along my route, a soft hue of gold painting the landscape for the early part of my return walk.
The above are just a small selection of the hundred or so I took along the way, I was quite happy with the snail images, even they do not seem bothered with the diminutive size of the '95' .
