Embracing the grey days too

We rarely get snow during the winter months in the west country, but we do have rain, a lot of rain, or insipidly grey days that have all the appeal of a z list celebrity's biography.

As I look forward to longer days, I have felt that I have used the winter months more constructively this year.

My ongoing 'black and white square' project has enticed me out of my comfort zone and challenged my skills in finding an image with whatever light is available.
This new mindset has opened my eyes more to what is on my doorstep, almost as though I am seeing my home city for the first time once more.

My evenings after work have been productive also, experimenting with new editing ideas and custom presets, some have made the grade. many have gone into the digital dustbin but it has been an enjoyable work in progress.

The final piece of this creative jigsaw has been the fun I have had with in camera black and white image profiles, something I had dismissed before as gimmicks but am having a whole load of fun with now!

A handful of images from last weekend's outings.
