For the love of monochrome.

Since starting an ongoing square format project with my photography at the end of last year, it is fair to say that there has been a heavy bias towards monochrome images in this format, which has crept in to my more regular photo walks.

Initially black and white images had been an afterthought in post processing, perhaps a poor attempt in masking what was essentially a bad photo, however as the monochrome habit has become more frequent, I am composing for the black and white image first and foremost.

In the coming weeks. autumn will bring those beautiful hues synonymous with the season, plenty of scope for colour photography but I will look forward to those misty and moody days just as much and more so than any time in the past.

In the relatively short time that I have been shooting with monochrome in mind, I have found myself drawn to more architectural scenes, or those with a clear theme of shape and or texture, I am exploring more my familiar surroundings to find an
unusual take of everyday scenes.
