Out of my comfort zone

Prime lenses have always formed part of my camera bags arsenal, 35mm and 50mm particularly have always been favourite focal lengths, with the occasional dalliance with the wider 28mm.

When I am not shooting with my older digicams, I like to use micro four thirds cameras, with the original line up of compact lenses that made the system so compelling.
Having acquired the much praised 45mm f1.8 olympus lens at a good price some time ago, it has been patiently awaiting its turn on a shoot, that day was yesterday when I put it on my Olympus EPL-3 and decided to shoot with just this set up.

With the two times crop factor of micro four thirds, the focal length is 90mm in full frame terms, a focal length that is well out of my comfort zone but for me photography is all about setting personal challenges and trying something a little different.

When trying any unfamiliar lens, the field of view takes a little getting used to but as I wandered my home city of Exeter, the ideas began to flow, helped by the sun casting its rays on buildings and creating some abstract reflections for me to find.
